What would make a company stand out at an exhibition?

The normal format when visiting a trade exhibition is to bimble round, trying to avoid eye contact with overly happy sales people, collect as many freebies and eat as much food as is physically possible, a quick nap during the key note speech and then off home before getting mugged by more sales people...

As users (and exhibitors) we have all been to shows where all the stands look the same, say the same things, have the same logo'd gifts. What makes an exhibition stand out from the rest? What kind of things would catch your eye? What is the most interesting freebie that has been handed out at a conference?

Lose long speakers, stands that allow sales people to get in your face and for god sake make it interactive.
